School was established in 1961 as a Junior High School and in 1965, it was come under Govt. Aid. As a Govt. College, it got high school affiliation in 1979 and in 1989 it upgraded to intermediate. GIC, Chamrada Devi is located in extremely quiet, open and healthy surroundings. It is away from the hustle and bustle of the town. The School Campus is naturally landscaped and lush green with special care taken to create an atmosphere conductive for a child.
For all round development of personality of the students, our school is a plethora of Co-curricular activities. Facilities of Indoor games and outdoor sports, art-craft and cultural activities are offered. GIC, Chamrada Devi has latest facilities and well equipped labs, well stocked library. It has also provided the students to give vent to their creative & innovative imagination. Many latent talents are exhibited.

School is structured on these levels-namely Middle School (classes VI-VIII), and the Senior School (classes IX-XII). The curriculum encourages students to develop an understanding of key concepts and ideas. In this way, a sound base is built to equip students with the appropriate attitudes and skills. Concept teaching is the base of the learning’s and teaching process in the school. Projects, activity oriented and content centric teaching is introduced at the Middle School level. Cross curriculum understanding is encouraged through theme-based teaching.
